Ever find it strange and maybe unrealistic(?) that Aruto and the Zero-One cast still hasn't pressed all those charges against Amatsu when they STILL have the chance? (Hell, fucking Kuroto got turned in to the health ministry authorities and was legally given a permanent virtual prison sentence in the CR's custody because they know they can trust them to keep him in check. Even if more punishment might be missing) And what do you think would be a reasonable sentence for Amatsu for all his crimes?

Oh yeah. Even if Aruto and co. refused to press charges themselves, there's probably enough evidence to prosecute him, regardless of that. I mean we don't prosecute murderers because their victims press charges, we do that on basis of the evidence found and presented. Similarly, it shouldn't take having Yua and Isamu press charges against Gai themselves because the evidence of his crime- the chips implanted in their brains without consent and knowledge, which he can ostensibly control- should speak for itself.

Outside of what he did to Isamu and Yua, he could also be prosecuted for his involvement with the ZAIA Spec, since it apparently went to market with a huge flaw that could put users in danger. As then-CEO of ZAIA Japan, he directly oversaw the project and even gave it to people to use during the workplace competition with Hiden Intelligence. That could make him legally culpable for Naki being able to exploit that weakness.

As for the appropriate judgement, I feel like Yua and Isamu's case could easily fit the category of "crimes against humanity" with how egregious of a crime it is. In Japan, that would qualify for either life imprisonment or capital punishment (i.e. the death penalty, which is still practiced). As the Riders would likely oppose the death penalty on principle, if Gai does get prosecuted they would advocate for life imprisonment instead. The latter would probably qualify for a financial settlement of some kind, along with jail time.

To put it bluntly... I don't think a character like Amatsu even deserved the fucking robot dog? (Not just for story reasons either) Also, how would the Zero-One cast react to Amatsu repeatedly getting trampled and bitten a swarm of those robot dogs, including his own? (Pretend the robot dogs gained a sentience, develop a sense of morality, and hate Amatsu now)

What Amatsu Gai deserves is to get dragged into the International Criminal Court to stand trial for crimes against humanity, get thrown into prison for several lifetimes, have all his personal wealth and assets confiscated/liquidated and awarded to his victims as compensation while ZAIA is run into the ground for its hostile takeover of Hiden Intelligence.

Though honestly, getting ravaged by a bunch of robo puppers may be humiliating enough that he would beg to be tried and jailed as a an internationally known criminal. Though, since he's getting all of that anyway, this is just the final nail in the coffin of his legacy

How do you want one Michinaga to atone for his crimes, we know he can't be put in prison on account of everyone forgetting the dgp jgp and dr and whatnot.

Honestly, I don't expect him to be punished for them, exactly because of the nature of the DGP/JGP/DR. I fully anticipate him being able to get away with it, if not completely scot-free then with what basically amounts to a slap on the wrist in toku terms. Of course, he'd also still be an asshole at the end of it all to boot, and everyone just barely tolerates him, but he'd basically be a free man.

Which is perfectly in line with past Takahashi antagonists like Dan Kuroto (who committed cyber-bio-terrorism, with the first victim being a child Hojo Emu) and Amatsu Gai (who committed crimes against humanity by implanting mind-control chips into people and sabotaging Ark because of his petty competition with Aruto's grandpa, which culminated in the Daybreak Incident).

Azuma's not nearly as bad as either of those two, sure. But if they got off lightly, then a bullheaded asshole who goes around violently assaulting people in the name of "saving" them definitely wouldn't get much in the way of consequences.
